LJEF Board Approves Donations to the School District

School Grants Funded and New Members Welcomed
The Lowell Joint Education Foundation met last night and reviewed the specific expenditure proposals from all six schools in the District. Funding for various equipment and the STAR Reading Program were requested. The Board voted unanimously to award $12,000 to the applicants. Additionally, new Board members Staci Shackelford and Bill Hinz were welcomed.

Sports Funded and Officers Elected
Last night the Lowell Joint Education Foundation Board approved a payment of $10,000 to the District for support of the Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School after-school sports program during 2010-11. President Dunford noted that this payment is in addition to the $6,000 Kaiser grant secured and paid earlier in the year. The Board also elected officers for the 2011-12 school year. They are: Gene Dunford – President, Carol Styx - 1st Vice-President, Marty Tourville – 2nd Vice-President, Melody Graham – Chief Financial Officer, and Glenn Sheppard – Secretary.
