LJEF Board Meeting

The Board met last night and approved Saturday, March 10, 2012 as the date for the Academic Excellence Day program. Students from all Lowell Joint School District schools will compete to answer questions in various categories such as math, science, oral presentation, spelling, social studies and the Academic Bowl. In support of this program, generous grants were received from the La Habra Rotary Club and an individual who has requested to be kept anonymous. The upcoming Turkey Trot (5K run) and Wellness Fair was discussed. Hundreds of runners are expected on Saturday, November 5th. A flu shot booth and many other wellness focused booths will be set-up in the Rancho Starbuck Intermediate School parking lot. It was reported that site selection for the annual Golf Classic (tentatively scheduled for March 19, 2012) has been narrowed to two locations. An announcement will be made soon.
